SAMHSA Inhalant Update Presentations

The New England Inhalant Abuse Prevention Coalition is dedicated to reducing the impact of inhalant abuse among children and youth. We do this by educating parents and youth-serving professionals to apply best practices in inhalant abuse prevention.

The Coalition has established Inhalant Abuse Prevention Task Forces or Teams in Maine, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut based on the model created in 1994 when the Massachusetts Department of Public Health established the Massachusetts Inhalant Abuse Task Force. The Task Forces and Teams work locally to enhance the effectiveness of their state prevention infrastructure to address inhalant abuse. All six New England states are participating in the New England Inhalant Coalition Workgroup to develop complementary approaches, consistent messages, and region-wide strategies. The New England Inhalant Abuse Coalition was founded in 2003 through a grant from the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
